A Little Extra Help
We know that some people, especially those who are vulnerable, elderly, or living alone, can sometimes find themselves paying more than they should for their household services. With the cost of living mounting, we can see if you could pay less by reviewing bills such as energy, broadband and phone.
The aim is to bring the cost of bills down while making them clearer and easier to manage, with everything rolled into one simple monthly payment. If you would like us to look at this for you, just speak to Rebecca or Jamie. This can be done over the phone or in person.
Meet the Founders:
Rebecca & Jamie
Rebecca takes care of everything behind the scenes, from enquiries and bookings to keeping things running smoothly.
Jamie oversees our team of companions and often carries out visits herself.
Together, they believe in the power of time, presence, and making sure every person feels truly seen and valued.
Our Companions
We’re proud to work with a small, trusted group of companions who each bring their own warmth, experience, and natural ability to connect.
Bethany, Becky, Louise, and Amy come from different walks of life, but all share the same beautiful heart: they’re kind, down-to-earth women who care deeply about others.
Each companion has been handpicked not just for their personality, but for their maturity, reliability, and life experience, many come from backgrounds in community work, healthcare, or supportive roles.
“From your very first visit, it will feel like reconnecting with an old friend — though in truth,
you’ll be making a new one.”
Bev (weekly visits)

How Sit With Me Began
The idea for Sit With Me came from something simple but powerful — recognising how widespread loneliness has become, and how often it goes unseen.
In early 2025, around 1 in 4 adults in Great Britain reported feeling lonely “often, always, or some of the time.”
Having both experienced loneliness at points in their own lives, Jamie and Rebecca wanted to create something meaningful — a way to offer time, presence, and human connection to those who need it most.
FAQs
Do you wear uniforms?
No, we don’t want anyone to feel like we’re there doing a job. We’re there as a friend. Our companions dress in a smart casual way, just as you would if you were visiting someone you
care about.
Do you visit people of all ages?
Yes, absolutely. We visit people of all ages, not just older adults. Whether someone is living alone, recovering from illness, or simply wants company and conversation, we’re here to offer meaningful companionship and heartfelt time together.
Do you visit people with additional needs?
Yes, we’re happy to visit people with additional needs, as long as the visit is for companionship only. We’re not carers, so we don’t provide personal or medical care, but we’re calm, understanding, and always respectful of individual routines and communication styles.
Do you visit couples or more than one person at a time?
We can do, yes. If both people enjoy company and the time feels shared and meaningful, we’re more than happy to visit them together. Just let us know what you’re looking for when you get in touch.
Do you visit care homes or supported living settings?
Yes, as long as the visit is for companionship only and the setting allows external visitors.
We’re always happy to work alongside family and care teams.
What do your visits include?
Our visits are all about time and presence. That might mean chatting over a cuppa, going for a walk, playing cards, or just being together in the garden. Every visit is shaped around the person we’re with — with no clock watching, and no feeling of being rushed.
Will I see the same companion each time?
We do our best to ensure consistency wherever possible, especially for regular visits, many of our clients build lasting friendships with their companion.
Can I meet the companion beforehand?
We’ll always make sure you know who’s coming. If you’d like a brief call or introduction ahead of the first visit, just let us know.
Do you offer companionship by phone?
Yes — we understand that not everyone wants or needs an in-person visit.
We’re very happy to arrange regular phone calls, whether you’re local to Derbyshire or anywhere else in the UK.
Can I book for a relative or someone I care about?
Absolutely. Many of our visits are arranged by family members, often adult children who live further away or work long hours.
Sit With Me is ideal in those moments where time is short, but you still want your loved one to feel seen, valued, and never alone.
Are your companions DBS checked?
Yes, all our companions are fully DBS checked and handpicked for their warmth, maturity, and reliability. You’re in safe hands.
Do you clean, offer personal care, or other domestic services?
No. We’re companions, not carers or cleaners. We don’t provide personal care, household tasks, or medical support, our visits are purely about connection, company, and time well spent.
